Our Story

Charles Beckwith joined Nick & Anne Roberts in 1987 at Roberts & Roberts, now known as Roberts Beckwith Partners.

Roberts Beckwith Partners have a strong history and alliance with the peninsula community. We have been in the prime position to understand the growing needs of our local clients and those of the vibrant business community.

Charles worked as a member of the Commonwealth Attorney Generals Department, at the Law Institute of Victoria Regulatory Department, as Regional Manager of the Legal Aid Commission and for many years in private practice.

He has had the position of principal at Roberts Beckwith Partners since 2005.

Roberts Beckwith Partners has developed a culture of loyalty, many clients and indeed many staff members, have been with the firm for over twenty years. Equally important to Roberts Beckwith Partners is innovation - the firm has attracted fine lawyers and paralegals to provide comprehensive legal skills to serve the requirements of our expanding and diversified clientele.

Our People

Charles Beckwith Principal

Charles Beckwith obtained his law degree from the University of Melbourne and was admitted to practice as a Solicitor in Victoria in 1974. Charles is also admitted to practice in the Australian Capital Territory and has signed the High Court Roll.

Charles is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law and a Notary Public. He also practices in the areas of General Litigation, Wills and Power of Attorney, and Deceased Estates. Charles believes in adopting a solution focused approach in his matters.

Kelly Hodson Consultant Lawyer

Kelly joined us in 2018. She was admitted to practise as a solicitor and barrister in Victoria in 2002 and is admitted in the High Court. Her experience has been gained nationally and internationally, in both private practice and in-house. She also teaches at Monash University.

Kelly consults for the firm predominately in general commercial and corporate areas, estate planning, particularly for high net wealth estates, complex deceased estates and contested estates. She is passionate about assisting the community we live in.

Tanya ThistletonConsultant Lawyer

Tanya obtained her law degree from the University of Western Sydney after completing a Bachelor of Human Movement Studies. She was admitted to practise as a solicitor in 2001 and has also signed the High Court Roll. Tanya joined Roberts Beckwith Partners in June 2021. Tanya has practiced Family Law in Sydney as well as Albury-Wodonga before shifting to the Mornington Peninsula. Tanya practices exclusively in Family Law from minor to complex property and children disputes.

Mayrose RolleyLawyer

Mayrose obtained her law degree from Australian Catholic University and was admitted to practise in 2021. After graduating Mayrose moved to Northern Uganda to assist prosecuting cases of domestic and sexual violence against women and children. Since returning to Australia, Mayrose joined Roberts Beckwith Partners and practises in Family Law, Wills and Powers of Attorney and Deceased Estates. She has a passion for helping her clients and ensuring they are well informed and supported throughout the legal process.

Kerri FouldsConveyancing Department

Kerri has worked in the legal sector since 1987 predominately in the Conveyancing and Accounting departments. She joined Roberts Beckwith Partners in 2014 in our Accounts Department and is now also heading up our Conveyancing Department. Kerri enjoys walking clients through the conveyancing process and seeing them settled and moving onto their next chapter of life. Outside of the office, Kerri loves spending time with her family and friends, travelling and sport.

Laurie Watkins Consultant Conveyancer

Laurie has over 25 years' experience in property transactions and joined Roberts Beckwith Partners in 2020 as a consultant. During her career, she has built a solid and positive standing in the property industry with clients, real estate agents and other legal and conveyancing firms. Laurie has been a wonderful addition to Roberts Beckwith Partners and strives to provide a high level of quality service to all her clients.

Kristie Quinlan Estates Manager

Kristie has over 25 years’ experience working in the legal sector and started with Roberts Beckwith Partners in 2014 in our Family Law team. In 2018 she transferred into Deceased Estates and took over as Estates Manager in 2019. Kristie enjoys walking clients through the estate administration process and taking the burden off their shoulders after they have lost a loved one.

Shelagh StillLegal Assistant

Shelagh began working in the legal field in 1988 in the UK and continued upon her arrival in Australia in 1997. She has been with Roberts Beckwith Partners since 2012 assisting Charles and the Family Law Team, but also assists in other areas of practice as required. Shelagh is wonderful with clients and provides assistance to alleviate the stress that Family Law matters entail. Outside of the office she loves spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow.

Faye Kontos Legal Assistant

Faye has worked in the legal sector since 1982. Now in 2022, Faye has come back to her local area and working with Roberts Beckwith Partners in various duties, mainly assisting in trusts, leasing and probate matters and loving the commute of a few minutes from home. Faye has a good nature and the ability to engage with clients and make people feel comfortable and at ease comes so naturally to her.

Kaye CharlesworthLegal Assistant

Kaye has been with Roberts Beckwith Partners since 1988. Although semi-retired and enjoying watching her grandchildren grow up, she still comes into the office occasionally to assist in Wills and Power of Attorney matters and office administration. Kaye has an extensive knowledge of the law and loves reconnecting with previous clients.

Hayley Wallace Office Assistant

Hayley joined the team at Roberts Beckwith Partners in 2021. She is our office all-rounder who mainly assists our Conveyancing and Accounts departments. After many years of running her own document writing consultancy business, Hayley is enjoying applying these skills to the legal profession.
